Lloyds



The idea

Who could resist a 3D animated version of Christmas’ most potent, pyramid-shaped symbol? This is what we created for Lloyds Bank last Christmas, bringing their ‘Love You to the Stars’ social media campaign to life on London’s Southbank with a shimmering, utterly seductive projection-mapped Christmas tree.



The canvas

The 12-metre interactive tree served as a canvas on which passersby projected video messages to their loved ones – bringing the public together with some festive fun and capturing the warm, affectionate spirit of the season.



The physics

By day the tree displayed poster-mapped artwork to illustrate the ‘Love You to the Stars’ campaign, but by night is when the installation truly came alive. Passersby were directed to record their messages in a nearby video booth, before the videos were projected onto the structure for all to enjoy.



The experience

This merry mapping meander, carried out over five consecutive nights, notched up a tidy 2.2 million views on Facebook, 8500 likes and 1700 shares. Each projected entry was submitted back into the online ‘Love You to the Stars’ campaign – cleverly linking Lloyds’ experiential and online activity – and entered into a draw to win a holiday to see the Northern Lights.
